Yes, the Royals do suck but, you can't just take them out of a league. They have great in the past but, these few years have been rocky for them. If you look at thier team what they are trying to do is rebuild. You can expect an even greater by 2010. You just to give them thier tim ad they will be on top again.

Every ladder has a bottom rung.
For most of the 80's, the Braves were that in the NL. And then came 14 straight post-season appearances.
The Tigers went through years of sub-500 seasons, and in 2003, almost broke the record for losses in a year. Three years later, they were in the World Series.
The Brewers haven't been to the WS since '82, and haven't contended since '92. This is the year that they reverse that trend.
With which team would you replace the Royals? That's aside from the fact that MLB doesn't recognize the concept of relegation. With which team would your replace the Royals? With which team would you have replaced the Tigers? The Brewers? The Braves? The St Louis Browns? The Washington Senators?
It's time for someone to open their eyes to the real world.

Royals are an OLD franchise with a Great history, i know they have been bad a long time now, but there was a Time when it was Them and the Yankees that dominated the American League.... I think they have been horribly mismanaged, and i think they need a near complete overhaul from every aspect. Because clearly, what theyre doig is NOT working. That said, no, i dont think you can contract them for being bad. That really does smack of elitism. The only reason teams are better is because seemingly everyone has more money the KC. I just think that the best thing in the world that could ever happen to the Royals is if someone like George Steinbrenner Yankees Owner.... Artie Moreno the Angels Owner... WIlpon and Doubleday, the Mets owners... Baught the Royals.. and brought in a GM like Dombrowski in Detroit, Cashman with the Yankees, Sabian in San Francisco, Scheurholz in Atlanta, Kenny Williams in Chicago, Omar Minaya with the Mets...one of those SMART, proactive GMs, who dont sit around twiddlin their thumbs.

No, they shouldn't be removed. There should be a salary cap and REAL revenue sharing to keep there from being teams like the Yankees, and a lesser degree, Red Sox from raiding teams of their talent. I am a Red Sox and Twins fan - the Twins were almost done away with, I'd hate to see another Team/City go through that. Plus the Royals and Kansas City have a great wealth of baseball history.

No, they definitley suck, but you can't just start removing teams. That's not how it works. Besides, you probably have a favorite team right? Now, they probably have to play the Kansas City Royals and they will most likely win. If the Royals weren't in the league they would probably play a better team and lose.

You cant do that simply b/c look how long the Red Sox went without winning a WS and w/o even contending....should they have been removed? No...look at the Cubs, they are absolutely horrendous and havent won a WS in almost 100 yrs, and as much as i hate them baseball wouldnt be baseball without Wrigley Field and the Cubs. The Royals will get better, eventually, even if its 20-30 yrs down the road it will happen. The Detroit Tigers were a laughing stock of MLB until last season, so it happens.

No.
They will get better, watch.
With Dayton Moore as thier new GM look for KC to become contenders if a few years time.
Harold Reyonds said the same thing about The Tigers in 2003, and make me mad.
If you want to get rid of a team, it should be Tampa Bay & Colorado.
And put Milwaukee back in the AL.

No because if you start removing teams that are having a bad year or decade then you would have to remove more than the Royals...What about the devi rays, pirates, mariners, rangers, and the brewers. I think its a good idea to have terams around that are almost considered automatic wins. Helps the mediocre teams lok better.

I know they are not a good baseball team but I think they are due to show a little improvement this year. You know they thought that of the 1920's and 1930's Red Sox (thanks to the overblown Ruth curse fiasco). the Red Sox had some years they would not win more than 45 games. They were not a very good franchise and the joke was if you want to catch up in the pennant race Boston is coming upon the schedule.I hope you will not give me a negative for this answer but it is true.
