My mom was cool, she told me right away that life is not fair and that there are a lot of bad people out there that tell you lies!
Whenever I would say "that's not fair!"
She would just reply "life's not fair!"
When I got to school, I had that confirmed for me. Especially when the school had us go through the history text books with a black permanent marker and mark out all of the things that were proven to be untrue!

Now this is the truth...my Mom used to tell me I was named after a monkey in the zoo....when my mother found out I was repeating that story around,..it got upgraded .to..... I was named after a little girl who was "visiting" the monkey house at the zoo....( it was a joke on my Mom's part, but I really believed it when I was little)
