I really don't know. I do know that Limewire has screwed up a lot of people's computers.

(my attempt for a best answer)

The authorities don't close them down for a few reasons

first off they have already sued them a lot

they also like to sew the other people that use it because they will get more money (like other people have said)

Another Reason Is That The Program Is LEgal. The Songs are illegal though and thats how people get caught

Now LimeWire has a little reminder saying only some are legal

Even though Out of a lot of searches I couldnt even find one

Hope This Helps
I have thought about this same thing for a while too
But I dont Think Music Should cost 99 cents per song
All these Rappers Are Millionaires And if they had a normal life then they would probably write better songs! I think they should be about 8 cents

Both Lime wire as well as Bear share use a form of peer to peer file sharing. They are not providing the information they are simply providing an indexing system to access it. In general terms they are doing nothing illegal. To ban this is to destroy what the Internet was conceived for. That is Information sharing. The decision to share information or not is left where it belongs.... that is up to the individual!!
