The man was a genius... A true innovator... sometimes when he was playing live, his solos went on for a bit long, but other than that one of the greatest musicians of all time!! My Favourite song would have to be Castles Made of Sand..
Oh ya... and he was the ONLY person that could do a decent cover of a Bob Dylan song (ie: All Along the Watchtower, Like A Rolling Stone...)

Jimi was an innovator. He did things with an axe that had simply never been seen, or heard before. The reasons for this are threefold. (1) Musical genius - some guitar players are / were great because of their technical expertise with the instrument, while others, although not technically perfect, just have an incredible feel for making music that resonated with the listener. Jimi represented the best of both worlds. (2) His hands - Jimi had huge hands. He could reach the entire fret board with ease, and he used that incredible dexterity to do things that others just couldn't do. I'm a guitar player. I can listen to a song and figure out what the writer was doing, and generally duplicate it. Some of Jimi's songs I just can't do because I can't reach it. (3) Courage to be different - Jimi wouldn't / couldn't be restrained by the un-written rules that governed what was "sellable" music. Music promoters and record label decision makers typically ignore those artists whose productions are too different because they don't believe they can sell it. Sometimes a musician's innovations are so intriguing, even stringent record label producers realize they have something that although different, is still special, and must be delivered to the masses. Jimi amazed and intrigued every single (knowledeable) person who had the honor of watching him play. Jimi was an evil genius with a guitar in his hands.

I like Hendrix' music.
My favorite is his rendition of the 'Star Spangled Banner' at Woodstock.
Genius!
Stephen didn't live during the time of Jimi and Elvis--both were legends in their own time, way more popular while alive than after death.
Tupac is one who was a no-talent elevated to demigod status after his death.

Jimi Hendrix was a great musician, who was turned onto drugs by the people who managed his career so that they could rip him off, which they did ,and it finally killed him.

One of the greatest guitarist who ever lived. I'm inspired by his talent, but not him as a person. Because of his heroin use. Watchtower
