My opinnon on abortion is i am 100% women's choice. Which means(just in case you don't know) that if the lady wants an abortion it should be completely her choice. If they take away that privelege because of what president Bush wants chaos will occur. Lets say you get rapped and you don't have an abortion you will have to see that beautiful babies face that will remnd you of your rapist. That is horror! Another example is if you get pregnant at an early age(BAD) and you aren;t ready to have a child or don't want to drop out of school. You should have the choice to abort without telling your parents. But i hate the abortion process. Abortion is soo sad, but sometimes you have to look out for yourself and your future. Just you protection and be safe!

I agree with everyone else who says that there are certain extreme circumstances in which I would consider abortion an option. Being raped would be the main one. The bottom line is that if you don't want children, get on birth control, most health clinics offer if for free to people who can't afford it. And use condoms, just to be safe, you can also get them for free...
As far as to whether it is a sin or not....a baby's heart starts to beat just days after it is conceived. Therefore by having an abortion you are killing a living being which IS a sin in the eyes of God. I, personally, am more on the pro-choice side, but I'm not overly religious either.
And to whoever said "why keep an unborn brat if it aint even born yet if you gave birth to it before 24 weeks it wouldnt survive ", do your research....my daughter was born at 22 weeks gestation and is a beautiful, healthy 4 month old baby today with absolutely no problems.

There should be no such thing as a sin, wouldnt a bigger sin be raising a child into this world you didnt want and dont really care for.
You have to look at an abortion from your needs and wants, do you want a baby? was the pregnancy unexpected/not planned? did the protection fail? But on the other hand, does it feel right, could you see yourself loving this child and wanting it despite not expecting to be pregnant. Or do you feel totally against the idea of having a baby, then in that case you have to make your decision.
It is making an educated decision, which thought through is right for you, I do also respect the fact that some religious beliefs see this as a sin, I respect other peoples view but I believe you have the right to choose.

What you believe to be a sin is a sin for you. If you do something you truly believe is a sin, then you are sinning. If you do something you don't believe to be a sin, regardless of what others believe, then you're not sinning. It's all about what YOU believe. I believe a soul will not enter a baby if it knows it will be aborted. And God knows all. So if you choose to for your own reasons, then it was meant to be that way. Maybe someday that same soul will enter another pregnancy you CHOOSE to keep. And to comment on some other answers--You grieve the loss of what might have been. ---I don't like the idea of aborting in 2nd or 3rd trimester because then it's more of a real baby that might be able to live outside of womb and all. I can't believe that is legal, is it? But very early on, it's a potential baby. A blob of tissue. You can murder a blob of tissue? How stupid can people be? I myself, wouldn't do it unless it was very very early on when it is still a bunch of tissue mass. But more on a spiritual side. What is right or wrong? No one can hurt God. You only hurt yourself based on what you believe.

Let me give you the response from a "Bible Thumper" such as myself:
While the Constitution guarantees the right to life and liberty to every person, the Supereme Court decreed that an unborn child is not a person, and in 1973 abortion was legalized. Since then, there have been millions upon millions of abortions and it is now the most frequently performed "operation" in the U.S.
Just because something is legal, does that make it moral? While the Supreme Court doesn't see an unborn baby as a person, does God?
-"For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13).
-"And now says the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him" (Isaiah 49:5).
-"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5).
-"For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine or liquor; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, while yet in his mother's womb" (Luke 1:15).
-"But when He who had set me apart, even from my mother's womb, and called me through His grace" (Galatians 1:15).
The Bible makes it clear that an unborn baby is a person who is known by God. Besides the emotional, phychological, and physical complications that are so often connected with abortion, in the eyes of God, it is the murder of an innocent human being. The truth is, at conception, that single celled person we like to call an "embryo" contains his or her full complement of DNA (everything the full grown adult will be).
I have to agree with the bumper sticker I saw not too long ago: "As a former fetus, I oppose abortion." What if your mother would have had an abortion? What if the mother of Noah, Abraham, or Moses would have had an abortion? What if the mother of Jesus would have had an abortion?

Here's the thing, I would never presume to tell anyone else how to live their life... I can say for myself personally, since I believe that life begins at conception, it would be like ending a life. Other people differ in opinion when life begins..
That being said, I get upset when people use abortion as their means of birth control, but I can see the view point that supports it for rape/molestation survivors.
I might be against abortion for myself personally, but I could never support a ban on it because I do not feel an opinion should be forced into a law eliminating a woman's right to choose.
It's a tough issue that really gets people passionate about it. I try to remember that I haven't walked in everyone's shoes and what may be right for me, isn't right for someone else.

Ok, i think abortion is neither right nor wrong, BUT this depends on the woman's situation regarding her pregnancy.
If a woman, wasnt prepared mentally or physically then aborting a baby could be feasible. As the child would suffer in the long run.
I do think that the time limit where abortions are legal is way too late in the pregnancy and should be statuatory to 2 months, unless the woman is poorly, or baby is going to be severly handicapped in some way where the woman would have to wait for a later scan to detect.
Other factors could be a pregnancy resulting from rape, teenage pregnancys, proven contraception difficulties or failure of them working which can happen.
Yes i agree that abortions are given too freely and it is easy to say "No, i dont agree with abortion" but until you know the situation only then can you open your mind to the womans scenario.

I believe the conception of a child is a miracle. To abort a pregnancy is bringing death to a life. I am against abortion in all circumstances. You can ban abortion but as long a the procedure is available it will be used.

I personally do not believe in abortion, unless the Mother is at risk. I have been told by friends that they are trying to change the time of abortions. At the moment you can have a miscarriage before 24 weeks. But, as babies are surviving from 21 weeks they are trying to lower it.

ABSOLUTELY it is a SIN. It is murder. Life begins at conception & every human being concieved has the right to live and only GOD his Maker has the right to take away that life no mtterhow small it still is in the womb of his/her mother.
I have had abortion some 15 years ago due to financial reasons. I had a very tearful confession after that & I regret it until now I still carry the guilt with me.
