it first happened last thursday when, I think, a worm took out my ashampoo antivirus. when i was at work, my IT colleague managed to regain my internet connection to our office LAN. But when I brought my laptop home, it was inaccessible to my home router wireless as well as lan cable. May I know what I should do? Thanks a lot. Regards

The clue maybe that an IT colleague regained your connection. On the network connection Icon (I guess you are using windows) right click and click status on the screen that appears click on the Support tab. Be sure the IP says "assigned by DHCP" if it shows static your IT colleague setup a static IP for your office network.

To fix that click on the "General Tab" then click properites, another screen will appear, In the list that shows find the one that says Internet Connection (TCP/IP) and double click on that connector. In the IP box that appears click the check box that says obtain IP automatically and Obtian DNS automatically. Then click apply and ok all the way out. If it all worked you should reconnect at home.
