Because you've added programs that auto-load at startup. Run msconfig, select startup and unselect any programs that you really do not need to run all the time. When you re-boot tick don't show again and then OK.

You can speed up your computer by doing these simple tasks in as followed order...
1) DISK CLEAN: Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk cleanup.
This gets rid of any unessasary files.
2)MSCONFIG: Start, Run, then type msconfig, the right tab "startup"
This stops unessesary programs from starting up. But i recommend using this website to tell what the program is, and whether it needs to be turned off. http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/loadctl.asp?pg=/spycheck/scan.asp
3) DEFRAG IT: Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Defragmenter.
Select the partition in the top white box, then click "defragment" Defragmenting takes a long time, but does improve loading up times.

Usually this happen when there are lot of program installed. When you turn on pc programs are running on back ground. The best way to fix is:
Click Start button
type msconfig in RUN
Click the tab Startup
Just un-check the program which you know do not need start up. If you do not know DON'T PLAY AROUND. Before doing any change make a memo incase if you need to check box you can do.
Give this a try I hope this will help

spyware and lots of start up programs and so on. try running spybot search and destroy and ad aware se and will find almost all your spyware on there. both a re free
in your run box type in MSCONFIG and click the startup tab. see how many programs are set to start up when the computer does. and disabel which ones you dont want to. this is the first 2 things I would check.
are you running nortons? if so that can slow down a computer big time and also defrag your computer. this will help too.

Hi Vittorio,
It is probably spyware. AntiSpyware watches for malicious cookies, spy ware and other malicious things put on your computer by websites that want to spy on you or use your system.
You should have Windows Defender. It is free from Microsoft and watches your system prevents programs from taking over your home page etc.
Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security...
Two other free programs you should get & run about once a week are Spybot and Adaware. They also are free and you can get them both here - http://www.download.com/
Between those three you are doing a pretty good job of protecting your system and you will probably boot faster.
