If you mean by "reset" just turning it off and on..it should keep its configuration and reconnect.

If you mean reset as in back to factory defaults you'll need to configure it again. Either way if you can't get into it now and it's not working, what have you got to lose?

Go to start/run, type in ipconfig and you will see the default route which is the address of the router. Type this in the browser window and you will reach the router logon page. If you have already reached this stage and just can't log in check the router manual for the default password, quite often it is blank. If it was set up by someone else they should have reset the password for security reasons and should also have noted this password. If all else fails make sure you have your ISP logon name and password, also the type of connection settings they use before you do a reset or you will be in the same state as your friend. If you have a configuration disc this will normally set everything except your logon details.

Not without the password.

Read the router manual. Find the "Reset to Factory" settings section and follow the instructions.

Then, configure your router using the correct ISP info and finally, change the router's Password AND write it down.

Call your ISP for the correct settings.

resetting your router can involve 2 things..

(a) rebooting the router

(b) restoring to factory settings

how do you log into your router settings, through your internet explorer? maybe its an issue with the browser, try using another like Opera or Firefox.

If you check using software, try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

if you want to restore to factory settings you will have the router as you first bought it with no configurations, you will lose your internet settings and u will have to confiigure that.

if you are just rebooting the router you will just restart it just like a computer, your settings will not change just be refreshed.
