I need arguments for both the YES and NO cases.

It appears from the answers, that I did not make my question clear. I am not concerned with decision problems of 'opinion' e.g. what to eat or life matters. I am only interested in decision problems where both a human and a computer are presented with the same data (which has a definite "yes" or "no" answer). Is there any such problem which is solvable by a human and not by the computer?

Computers cannot solve problems of the heart, for that you simply have to go with your gut feelings and life experiences up to that point. Computers can only operate within the parameters of the input, instinct, common sense, true feelings are not things that can be understood by a computer. For intelligent answers to logical problems, finding information necessary, computers are great, but they cannot be enabled to make the important life decisions necessary on a day to day basis.

An interesting enigma as to answer your question you must first find something a computer cannot do. Then you try to prove it by using computers.

So it is invertible that someone will come up with a solution, if it doesn’t already exist, to prove computers can do this or that.

For this reason, the answer has to be no, as everything is possible given the right information.

However this is not the end of the matter because I believe the real answer, to your question, is yes.

Why?

Well because computers cannot invent (invention is one of our greatest assets) and without this how can they evolve?

How long will we have to wait, until computers are able to invent, is another question.

hey..
ive been lookin at what others have wrote and there all right
but then i came to think in in away computer are better than us while computers will live for ever we wont yeah a computer will get old but then everyday some new gets upgraded! all we do is stay the same part from age and maybe get a little wiser but then while we die that same computer could be there workin just like it did when it first started.... so thats solvable for a computer to live for ever when we can not...yeah we has a humen upgrade the computer but still it could keep on goin with out the upgades..

Computers can execute a well-defined set of instructions better and faster than any human. Where computers fall short is stuff like pattern recognition. For example, a computer programmed for voice recognition would have problems with someone with a speech defect, but a human could understand it easily. Computers also can't sense when something is about to happen. If I come in the room with a hammer, the computer can not sense my attitude...so it doesn't know if I'm going to hang a picture, or smash the computer to bits.

There is actually a whole set of problems which we know cannot be solved by a computer. They are called NP-Complete problems and they include problems like determining the most efficient route for a salesman, verifying the correctness of code, etc. If you want to read up on them further, wikipedia has a nice section on them.

A computer is only good as the information that you have entered in to it. This means if you lie to the computer it has not idea if the information is true or not. Will a human can tell you based on his own feelings, and experiences what you should or should not do. Computer only imputs and exports information.

Based on pure logic, no. But humans also use their intuition, or gut feeling. You can't teach a computer that.
