Only the male sperm can determine the sex of any child. Male sperm all carry X Y chromosomes, where as a female egg carries both X X chromosome. During fertilisation, one chromosome from each parent fuse together to form the embryo...this therefore determines the sex of the child, and the male is the sole reason for a female or male child.

Blaming either parent for the birth of a child (boy or girl) is absurd, by itself. Besides, it is correct that all oocytes carry the same genetic material (22 somatic chromosomes, plus a sexual X chromosome), whereas the sperm could present either the X or the Y sexual chromosome. Therefore it is the sperm which will determine the sex of the baby.
However, fertilization of an oocyte by the sperm is a completely random procedure, on which humans have no control whatsover (no food-sperm relation is true!), therefore, why would human emotions, such as blame, be mixed with a natural process?

Since women do not possess the y chromosome it is the male which determines the sex of the child . In a normal chromosome of a woman that is the sex chromosome it is XX and the male is XY. A child can have many X chromosomes but if it contains a Y, the child will be male . There has been people that have XXXXY it is still a male.

as it is when it comes to the sex chromosomes the mother can only offer the X chromosome. it is the sperm of the male that determines the gender of the zygote for the father can contribute either Y or the X chromosome in which case it will be a male or a female respectively. it is therefore the sperm that determines the sex of the child.
but no one is to blame as such for the phenomena is a case of random recombination mediated by nature.

Eggs all have X chromosomes while the sperm can have X or Y. So it is the male cell that decides the sex of the offspring.

The sperm determines the sex of the baby...not the egg.
