That we Humans have no special worth at all,
that we live & die like animals,
though we strive to gain righteousness & benevolence,
everything that matters to us, means nothing at all.

I wish that there was only one thought that scared me! To be honest, there are an uncountable amount of things in life that scare me. However, the one thing that frightens me the most is not living. A lot of people choose to answer with "death" or "not knowing where we go when we die." Those are all very real, and also very scary answers; but when I say not living, I mean I fear just surviving. Anyone can get through this life on the bare necessities. It's not hard at all. Survival is mankinds' most basic instinct. I fear surviving in a life without love, without fun, without grief, without suffering and without powerful emotion. To me, that is living; and without these things, I would be lost.

For all I know we may be unique and very, very alone in an
immeasurably big universe.
There may be nobody out there, already a sobering and very frightening thought.
If this is the case the scariest thought is that we mishandle this fortunate accident of being the only species
to have developed a higher form of intelligence and push some kind of self destruct button, thereby leaving the universe
utterly devoid of life and meaning for eternity.

The thought that scares me the most is my husband dyeing because he is my everything, my best friend, and my whole world. Next to that, the scariest thought is being buried alive.

Dying a long painful death, like having a terminal desease. I want to die painlessly in my sleep.

i'm not afraid of death, or really wonder what happens after. i'm much more terrified of just how agonizing, slow and painful death could be, and having to watch people suffer because of it.
