This book might help you:
GIFT OF THE GAB Rev Ed : Improving Your Conversation and Communication Skills
by Jacquie Wise
ISBN-10 : 0975760408
ISBN-13 : 9780975760406.
Also try reading up on etiquette, it's a lot easier to behave in a social situation when you know the right thing to do or what is expected of you.

Yes i have.
In high school i never talked, i was the one on the corner drawing and alone. My family and i are also not very close, but i have over my anti-socialistic ways by opening up, and believe it or not prayer. I mean i was that quiet, now i i play an instrument in public, and even give classes to teens.
Don't let that hold you back. I am still a quiet type, but am opening up, and well you only live once, don't let that go to waste. >.^

Don't worry, you're not alone. I'm the same way - I practically never talked in high school, some people even thought I was mute. Just be yourself. Unless it is making you miserable, you have nothing to worry about.

You can change that. When you are around your family and others join in on the conversation and don't just sit in the background. It is up to you to make yourself part of your family. Try it, it can't hurt to try.

I think everyone feels left out sometimes in their lives- but i think you should try and involve yourself with other people. The point of it is so you dont feel alone or left out and feel more happier.
