I have received an offer letter offering accounts job in meditex bank offering 14500 pounds monthly salary and 1500pounds housing expenses. I am confused as i have not heard of this bank previously.

I did a google search on Meditex bank, and came up with links to questions similar to yours, but not one actual link for the bank or any other information. I suggest you go to the Great Britain website and search their website for any corporate records for such an entity.

Do not send any money to that ignored bank,that is a cheat ,I have received the same offer,the person known Jones will want money from you he is a lyar,be carefull,how he want money and they will pay to you 2 monthes salary?
