As Blair now readies himself for war against Iran by stating that if the naval personnel are not released it will lead to a 'different phase' after diplomacy fails, the British incursion (not to mention the surprising inaction of the recently updated UK naval ship)into Iranian waters is making more sense.

Last Tuesday the russians announced: The Russian government on Tuesday announced the pull out of its nuclear experts, including technicians, engineers and other specialists, at the Iranian nuclear reactor plant in Bushehr.

The Russians have removed all carriers from the Persian Gulf - out of harms way.

The claims being made state that the intended attack is to take place April 6th, will be an air assault from 4am to 4pm , is code named 'Operation Bite' with about 20 targets already designated. The attacks will be mounted from a number of UK bases including the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

Diego Garcia is currently home to B-52 bombers equipped with standoff missiles.

Also participating in the air strikes will be USA naval aviation from aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf, as well as from those of the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. Additional cruise missiles will be fired from submarines in the Indian Ocean and off the coast of the Arabian peninsula.

The USS Stennis carrier strike group arrived in late February with an additional 6,500 sailors to join the USS Dwight D Eisenhower carrier strike group in the Persian Gulf.

The French aircraft carrier group Charles de Gaulle arrived in the Arabian Sea in mid-March for operations relating to Afghanistan, a spokesman for the French naval forces in Paris confirmed.

And of course we already know of the UK presence in the region.

USA troops deployment now is at its highest level with 220 000 troops in Iraq and the upgraded Nato presence in Afghanistan.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble but the UK alone can not defeat Iran. Without using nuclear weapons it's tactically an impossibility. You simply don't have enough troops nor enough support at home for a war like that.

Now if the United States offers limited logistical support then you could fight Iran to a stalemate. It would take the forces of the United States to defeat the Iranians.

Keep the bravado kid. They will give the troops back. This is all just too much testosterone in too little space.
