My screen was also not working today and the cheapest and best way is check the wires of the monitor and push them hard in and clean them with a dry tissue paper and also check if the wires are not bent

o....OOOO.... not good i had this happen to my g4 mac laptop it is the motherboard/logic board and will cost about 250$ to replace

In the future try not too keep it on all the time, and keep it cool labtops heat up alot and burn up the internals.

FINAL ANSWER it is the motherboard, or the display on a laptop- due to over use or heat reasons
