Okay, so basically I was mowing... that's all you need to know <_<
My dad says he can fix it. But he hasn't yet, and I was wondering if this is something that I would be able to repair without any special tools or anything, maybe a tutorial or something...

Um... ok. I'm not really sure if this is "fiber optic". Basically it is a cable which looks like it had these silver wires wrapped in foil, and then there's a lil copper colored wire inside of a gray, hard material, which is in the center. ?_?

If he cut a fiber cable, he won't be able to repair it. Call the company.

A Fiber Optic Cable when damaged, requires special equipment to repair. It might be more pactical to have it replaced than call a specialist to repair it.

Fiber Optics does not carry electrical signals but light.

But DSL providers rarely use fiber optic cable for residential clients, they only use that for corporate customers.

Check if your DSL line is fiber optic or regular copper wire.

Ummm... no.

Fiberoptic repair is VERY complicated. Unless you dad has had training it, I doubt he will be able to fix it.

You need very special and expensive tools.

The US Army Fiber Optic Splicing and Repair course is 6 weeks long alone. That's going to school 8hrs a day, 5 days a week.... on the same class.

If this is your own cable, you will need special tools to repair/splice the cable. Most people will say splices are not dependable - just replace it.

If it is your ISP's line, they are idiots for laying it in an unprotected manner.
