I don't want to get rich quick or easy, I am willing to work as long and hard as I have to. Any serious ideas or stories to share ?

Getting rich is all based on mindset. Decide and define what being rich means to you and set goals and plans to achieve it.
The best way to become rich is to help enough other people achieve their goals of becoming rich or by adding value to other people's lives. In other words, create assets that add value not only to your life, but to the lives of others. This is how Bill Gates, Oprah, The Waltons(Wal-Mart owners) etc made their wealth. They added value to other people's lives and ended up enriching their own lives.
You can't get rich working for someone. You get rich by creating assets, having passive income from your investments etc.
Richness is not the same as prosperity. Thus, having a balanced life is important. There is no point in making a billion US dollars and being ill all the time or being so lonely that you have no friends or family to enjoy the riches with.
Having a balanced life brings prosperity. So, be clear about defining what being rich is to you, though, don't forget to be prosperous.

This question is asked over and over in this forum so check the archived questions for answers that will work for you. The main tips that I can offer include: (a) make a list of your goals and a plan to followup on them; (b) educate yourself through networking, schooling, and reading; and (c) believe in yourself. Read some of the books at your library by successful people like Donald Trump, Suze Orman, David Bach, and Dave Ramsey. You are wise to realize that getting rich quickly isn't going to happen so I commend the honesty. Success is a journey, not a destination.

Read the book "Rich dad poor dad" and you will know how to. Also you could read "my dog money" although of a different genre it is still explaining how to get rich. not fast, but sure. it is working for me. :) Why climb the corporate ladder if you can own the ladder?

to answer this question i leave you with some thoughts from aristotle: "all paid jobs absorb and degrade the mind. dignity consists not in possessing honors, but in the consciousness that we deserve them...." it is not material possesions that make a man rich-it is abundance of love in any form.

Work hard, work alot, climb your way up the corporate ladder and stab as many people in the back as you can. That should do it.
