What a crock..It's MY cake right? What do they think I'm gonna do with it? I know CAKE FIGHT!

Hi Mauikitt, I don't know who came up with this saying. It has been around for years. What it means is you can't have everything you want and eat your cake too. A Friend.

Yeah, tell it. you can have your cake and them some!

It really appeared in John Heywood's dialog dating back to 1546. The actual phrase was in a John Ray 1812 document. Basically, it just means you can't have life BOTH ways and you much choose between them.

The original and only sensible version of this saying is “You can’t eat your cake and have it too,” meaning that if you eat your cake you won’t have it any more. People get confused because we use the expression “have some cake” to mean “eat some cake,” and they therefore misunderstand what “have” means in this expression.
