Try accupressure:

It is best to have someone else do these for you so you can relax.
Hope this helps!

Try acupressure, hold your left hand so that the thumb and first finger form an L shape, feel just inside the inside of the
web between with your right thumb and first finger, you will discover a spot just about 1/2 inch in that is very tender.
Using your right thumb and forefinger, apply pressure by
squeezing this spot (or better yet, have someone else do
it, they will use more pressure since they don't feel the pain)
It will hurt like the dickens (where did that phrase ever come
from anyway?) but keep the pressure on for as long as you can stand it. You will feel a lessening of the headache pain
quickly. I had a horrible migraine and was suffering in bed in a dark room when one of my sister's (who is a masseuse and
is studying acupuncture) came over and did the acupressure.
I was screaming while she did it, but the migraine was gone
when she finished. So now when I feel a bad headache coming on, I do it to myself. Works better and faster than aspirin....

There can be a plethora of causes for headaches and depending on the cause there are quite a few remedies.
1) Decreased amount of ions in the body: one possibility of headaches is lower amounts of sodium in the body which can be got rid of by taking in salty foods. (Never take in salt directly it causes severe irritation to your stomach)
2) Lack of oxygen or oxygen intake: this is the most common problem faced today and is the major cause of headaches. To cure this
a)you must relax and take deep breathes through your nose. See to it that the air is freely flowing through both your nostrils. b)Inhaling oils such as Eucalyptus oil or Nilgiri oils often has an action on your airway passage which helps open up the nostrils and increases air flow to your lungs, by inhaling such oils or sniffing them can help increase oxygen levels.
(Read point 4 too)
3)sometimes due to a cold or blocking of the nostrils or due to infection the sinuses present near your forehead get inflammed and because of this you feel a headache too, for this you must get it checked by a physician or a doctor.
4) Stress: People keep complaining about headaches due to stress. The best stress buster is excercise. If you excercise it releases endorphins which are "feel good hormones". These help alleviate the pain. At the same time more oxygen pumps into your lungs helping you breathe better and helps you as in point (2).
5) Chronic headaches: If a headache is there for more than 2 days or after your cold has gone, it could be due to some other cause such as migrane. It is best you get it checked by a physician.
6) Don't beleive me pinch yourself and see!!! Yes its true. pinching yourself especially near the back of the neck can help to releive headaches for two reasons a) it increases blood flow and relaxes the neck muscles which could be strained and stressed b) it diverts the minds attention to a pain which is greater so the brain gets fooled into concentrating on the pain of the pinch more than the headache and so it releives the pain. But be careful not to pinch yourself too hard.
7) Sometimes the cause could be either lack of food or eating the wrong food, so keep a check of your diet. People who are flatulent (having gas) often have headaches.
8) The best cure: is sleep.
These are some of the cures which I have used and seen work and have some scientific backing to it. I hope it helps you too.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

I don't know if you suffer from alot of headaches or migranes. I did upto 4 months ago, for years I was always taking tablets to get rid of them. I came accross St John's Wort, I don't have depression but hyperness and insomnia, so I took these for that and noticed all my headaches had gone, I also haven't had a single migrane and of course the hyperness and insomnia have gone also. Hope this helps.

Rub that mentholatum stuff that goes under the nose on your forehead...cover w/ a cool cloth and lay down.
*note to you....coffee is the worst thing to take when u have headache. The caffeine causes the vessels to constrict and cause MORE pain.

Because of the bad headache going on for a while from the sounds of things I would definitely have this evaluated by your dr to see if there is an underlying cause for it.

My Dad taught me a trick. It's pretty much an accupressure thing. Put both pointer fingers in the middle of your forehead and press, working your way towards your temples. You are increasing the pressure (as you move out).

Avoid artificial sweeteners. Keep a diary of your headaches so that IF you need to see a doctor in the future...... you can explain IN DETAIL what the headaches are like & when you get them.

Drink lots of water (not all at once...) over the next few hours. Many headahes are caused by dehydration. You can also try having a nap.
