When there are two different signs, it becomes minus(-)
and when there are the same then it equals to a plus(+)

-2+(-7)-(-9)+10-7-4
-2-7+9+10-7-4

Now, when there are same signs then you add the nos. and give the sign of the larger no,
when different you subtract, and do the same

-9+9+10-11

+/- get cancelled if same no.

0-1
-1

And thus the answer is -1

Hi,

When 2 numbers have the same signs, you add them and keep their sign. When 2 numbers have different signs, you subtract them and use the sign of the number that would be larger if their signs were covered up.

When you subtract 2 numbers you re-write the problem as the first number PLUS the opposite of the second number. Then you use addition rules to work it out.

You do the problem from the left to the right, in order.

-2+(-7)-(-9)+10-7-4

-2+(-7) Adding with same signs, so add, keep sign
-2+(-7) = -9

-2+(-7)-(-9)+10-7-4 becomes
-9 - (-9)+10-7-4

-9 - (-9) Subtraction to re-write as adding opposite of 2nd #
-9 + 9 Adding, different signs, so subtract
-9 + 9 = 0

-9 - (-9)+10-7-4 becomes
0 + 10 - 7 - 4

0 + 10 is just 10

10 - 7 - 4 10 - 7 Just subtract the old-fashioned way 10-7=3
3 - 4 Now subtraction re-write as adding opposite of 2nd #
3 + (-4) Opposite signs, so subtract and use negative because 4 is more than 3

3 + (-4) = -1

The answer is -1.

I hope that was clear and that it helps.

first of all, multiply all the minus and plus signs.
-2 (- x +)7 = -2 - 7
(- x -) = + 9
now write em all!
-2 - 7 + 9 +10 - 7 - 4
rearrange em lyk so...
10 + 9 - ( 2+7+7+4)
19 - ([7+7] +[4+2] )
19 - (14+6)
19 - (20)
19 - 20
-1

-2+(-7)=-9 -(-9)=0 +10=10 -7=3 -4=-1

I just broke the problem down and solved each individual part as I went across. Since it was all addition and subtraction, you just solve from left to right.

-2 + (-7) = -2 - 7 = -9
-9 - (-9) = -9 + 9 = 0
0 + 10 = 10
10 - 7 = 3
3 - 4 = -1

remember, first solve the brakets, then got for addition or subtraction
-2+(-7)-(-9)+10-7-4

solving brackets
+(-7) = -7

-(-9)= 9

now your equation becomes
-2-7+9+10-7-4

rearrange it for the positives and negatives
9+10-2-7-7-4
add all positives and all negatives
9+10 = 19
-2-7-7-4= -20

your equation becomes
19-20
which is

-1

this is your answer
