1) Know your friends--don't fall in with the wrong crowd, or otherwise either legal or miscellaneous bills will find their way in
2) Don't marry the wrong person as in 1)
3) Work and achieve, try to eliminate the sick days, get promoted on a consistent rate etc
4) Save be frugal
5) Invest in solid blue chips stocks if you are new to the market, buy and hold as per Warren Buffet's annual reports courtesy of Berkshire Hathaway (listed new york stock exchange company) will detail.
6) Try not to develop a habit for all kinds of gambling.
7) Learn DIY within a reasonable margin of safety, you can save money by performing minor repairs around the house etc over a number of years that amounts to a hugh amount.
So saving working and being proactive with your savings and knowledge about investing is the most obvious route that many have taken and many have proven to be 90% more successful than other routes.

The two ways to wealth are with planning (goals) and education. If you do something each day to achieve your objectives you will reach them but thinking about an objective without doing anything is called dreaming. Success is a journey, not a destination. Get to your local library TODAY to get books on personal finance, goal setting, and/or bios about successes like Warren Buffet, Donald Trump, and others. If you believe in yourself, others will believe in you.
