After hearing so much about Borat, I assumed the movie would be hilarious and expose all kinds of prejudices. Instead, it was moronic. There was a moment or two of real comedy (such as when he mocks the BLAIR WITCH PROJECT by standing in the dark with a flashlight help up to his face and saying he's afraid of the little old Jewish lady that runs the bed and breakfast) but, overall, it was lame.

For some inexplicable reason, my wife and i got Borat last night, because on the cover a critic is quoted as saying it was the funniest movie he's ever seen. So we watched it, and we agreed with each other that it was a really immature movie, and we didnt laugh at all. It was money spent making a movie that could have been better spent on homeless kids. Sacha Baron Cohen doesnt have our respect - any future movies or shows of his we wont be watching..... Never liked Ali G either.

Borat, or Sacha Baron Cohen, is an actor from the UK. His comedic style is different than what many Americans are used to. Borat is one of his many characters he plays on The Ali G Show (HBO). Baron Cohen has done his job now: we are talking about his character. You have just advertised him a little more. This way, he'll probably reap the benefits of you mentioning his character. Good work.

Maybe they're not "afraid" to say they hate Borat. Maybe they happen to think he's funny. It's called "having a difference of opinion".

I don't concur that his comedy is a "different style" from most American humor-actually it's quite American sounding-not subtle or dry as British humour ....it doesn't make it funny to be raunchy Perhaps to silly 6th and 7th grade boys only. Sure a bit of it is funny but they forgot that less is more and to get ratings just bored us all.Its not just the fact of being irreverant -we can take that It;s just overdone and contrived at a point and not imaginative.

people already have done things to him. He's been beat up in public areas and sued by tons of people who were in the movie. Not everybody likes him.

Why the talk of hating and doing wrong things? You have bigger problems than a comedian you can't laugh at.
