Power point is ppt. pps is slide show. To search for it click start / search / files and folder / click all files and folder options / in the box "all or part of the file name:" type *.ppt. That's it, it should search all files that ends with that ext.

you push the win key (usually between ctrl and alt with the windows logo on it) and 'F' at the same time to bring up the search window. (or however you prefer to get to the search window) then in the search field you type *.ppd
The asterisk is a wildcard character meaning that in that position can be any combination of numbers or letters followed by .ppd
Use the same sort of method for any filetype you need to find.

PPD = PostScript Printer Description

PPS = PowerPoint Slideshow

"If you do not have PowerPoint, Microsoft has a free PowerPoint viewer. Use their download site to search for it. Another option is to use the free OpenOffice.org office suite. The presentation portion of the suite can both display and edit PowerPoint presentations. Other office suites can also display PowerPoint presentations (e.g., Wordperfect) so if you have one of those installed, try that first...".
