Maybe they are not the evil ones.

First off, good and evil are moral terms and would only be used to make a sound judgment on a nation's political action; usually years after the initial act. Second, Great Britain may or may not have violated Iranian waters and although important from the sailors point of view (which they have admitted to violating) the fact is that this is what is called saber rattling. If the rattling becomes too noisy than we have entered the realm of brinkmanship and war is the usual outcome. Iran loses, US loses, GB loses... The only group that could possibly benefit from a war would be Al Quaida and similar non territorial combatants.
JB, crack open a history book, I see no evidence of Israel extending olive branches unless it was cover for an automatic weapon.

So evil is the olive branch Israel is extending to the Palestinians by taking their land, controlling their lives, and killing them any chance they get. About the Iranians, well let's see, I wonder what Israel would do if an Iranian boat full of soldiers strayed into their waters. What do you think?

PLease don't post questions like this under Jew Boy. It's not helpful. People from all over the world watch this site and they would use it to demonstrate strange theories, like America is controlled by Israel. As to why, It is believed a rogue member of Iranian military decide to take hostage to use to help negotiations. Itwas not ordered from the top. After these members brought back hostages, the Iranian government decided to save face and make accusations and take a defensive stance. Its one theory, but it's the most logical.

plain and simple it's a power move. Hostages are taken in order to threaten the government to obtain desirable items/outcomes. Evil? Interesting word choice. Desperate is more suitable. Not to justify the Iranians, but anyone who takes hostages is clearly at their wits end (whether that is reasonable at all is questionable). Furthermore- peace is always a nice concept to contemplate, but the nature of human beings is to control territory (look at war throughout the ages), the day there is peace in the world is they day all world governments cease to exist- which is another unlikely occurance because even in a state of anarchy a government will soon evolve to establishment- it's nice to live in a civil enviornment, this is more of a realistic approach to foreign affairs matter of factly because no country (at least no modern country competing in the global economy) will sacrifice its military power for world peace- you can't trust every nation in the world, I respect Israel and countries similar in action, but realistically such an approach will never materialize.

What most people don't understand is that the British had control over most of the middle east, along with the french and carved countries where there were none, installed kings, and kept the region corrupt. India and Pakistan were one country until England carved it into two. There is a whole history of repression and it is not easily forgotten.

Well in fairness CJ. you are a moron.....all of these countries are nations acting in self interest...you childish notions of morality have no place in real politics....and Henry Kissinger would agree.....PS why do you have so many cat quesitons...also..would you agree George bush would get his *** kicked in a street brawl by AL gore. PS....the British may have actually strayed into Iranian waters...they where most likeley captured..once captured the Iranians couldn't really hand them over in the current political environment for fear of appearing weak..at they same time they know that their is no way in hell either the US or Britain will bomb them over this. So they capture some solders..hold them..and then look like bad asses because the us and Britain talk and talk..when most red blooded wanna be tough guys like CJ are screaming "BOMB>>>>>BOMB...." its a win win for Iran..and no I'm not a fan of Iran...i dislike all right wing religious nuts...I'm just doing some political analysis...oh and CJ you say MUSLIMS..like Iranians...follow Islam..most Iranians are Muslim you idiot...the distinctions is that Muslims are Persians and not Arabs...

Why were they in the 1st place. People are playing into other's hands.
I wouldn't be caught dead there.
Why would you send a patrol boat there in view of the recent Iranian sanctions?

And why were they not well armed?

This whole episode is sooooo fishy, it reeks of a fish market.

When people fail to follow the international norms or conventions, they commit international crimes and until such time the alleged crimes are proved, they are innocent but unfortunately, until their innocence is proved, they have to undergo what the British captors are undergoing in Iran right now! Come to think of those under American custody in the Cuban island!

Let us all learn to live and let live others! If we stretch too far and force upon others our values, without first understanding the values of those upon whom we are trying to do so, the repercussions could be similar to the one under reference here!

That is a very good point. Israel always extends the olive branch to others, because it is in their nature to do so. Muslims, like the Iranians on the other hand, follow Islam, and have proven themselves time and time again to be terrorists.
