You shouldn't spy on your daughter it would ruin any trust you two have now and in the future. You should really just trust her and let her have her privacy. Even if she does have some secrets everyone is entitled to their own secrets I'm sure she doesn't know all the things you did when you were her age. I know you feel a maternal need as her mother to protect. But that does not mean you have to spy on her and know every detail of her personal life in order to protect and guide her. Just trust her to tell you things if you show she can trust you she will tell you. I hope you take what i said into account for your decision on weather or not you decide to use the spying software

If you want to protect, educate and empower your daughter, the first rule is:
1) Children on computers must be monitored at all times.
The Dining room or the Kitchen, in plain sight, is the only safe place that a child should be allowed to use the computer. When they know you are looking over their shoulder, they aren't tempted to "experiment".
2) Refer to rule number 1.

Can't answer about My Space because I don't even know what it is or how it works but a Home Network (set that up with Windows - use the wizard in XP that will do most of the work for you) should enable you to monitor whhat web sites she goes to and what she is doing.

There are such programs out there but unfortunately i do not know the names of them. But if the kid is smart enough and knows computers well enough then they can easily shut down the program. Quite honestly i wouldn't worry about your daughters personal stuff like that. But thats just me.

Download a program called RealVNC. You will have to install the SERVER on her pc and the LISTENER on yours but you can watch everything she does. I also have a program called Bulents screen recorder I use along with thew VNC and can take snaps of other PCs when I cant be there.

Go to newkeylogger.com and buy and download the program, you can then send it to her computer or download it yourself. It records all keystrokes, takes screenshots, etc. and sends them to your computer via email. It operates in the stealth mode and she will never know that it is there. It works with all computer systems. Hope this helps you, it did work for me.......

I Don't know how old your daughter is but if you don't trust your daughter don't let her have a computer. If you do trust her then trust her to do the right thing. If you are not sure if you trust her then get to know your daughter more. But invading privacy will not do anything but harm
