i have not been sexually active since the beginning of july. always had protected sex and i was on nuvaring. i had my period regularly for 5 months, and the last four it's been MIA. doc says hormone and thyroid are normal. what now?

If your dr is saying that the hormone and thyroid levels are normal but you have been missing your period for 5 months I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office with the dr you currently see.

Also, many drs do not do the entire thyroid panel of blood tests (there are 7 of them) so a problem with the thyroid that is ongoing could be missed.

Are you sure you are not pregnant? Even so, it is normal for some women to be irregular. You may want to start taking the pill instead to help regulate your periods. You don't really need to do anything about it unless you are trying to have a baby. Just see your doctor regularly.

Have you moved house or changed your lifestyle drasticaly? and stress can cause slight changes in the cycle if youre hormones and thyroids are fine then it must be down too common stress or lifestyle changes. try taking B vitamins, C vitamins and iron that should help

Better consult the Gynecologist May be due to so many causes, You have not mentioned your age. It may be due to a) acquired obstruction in the loser genital tract, b) destruction of ovaries both by disease, c)primary ovarian failure, Maasculinising tumors of the ovary, Diabetes mellitus, Nutritional, severe debilitating general disease Disorders of adrenal gland,.etc, in addition. So consult the doctor.
