I do, I do, I Do! I DO! I DO!
I am an Anime fan and I consider it to be the best series since Macross first hit the air.
I love hard science fiction where hard science and scientific principles are used to tell the story. Normally I don't like fantasy because they get around those rules so easily, but not Full Metal Alchemist. Alchemy is a true science with a combination of physics and chemistry that has to be known in the most intimate level.
I really love the Law Of Equalivilent Exchange and I love the characters. I don't cry easily, but when a certain general died I did cry. Not at his death, but in the totally accurate way that they treated his daughter. I will never forget the line, "Why is daddy sleeping? He has to get up he has work to do! Daddy, why are they putting dirt on you, why daddy, get up!"
The show has the habit of going along normally and then suddenly wrenching your heart around. That is the mark of quality fiction, in mean Shakespeare quality. There are funny points and points where you see the famous pair are still kids, but they are in an adult world and they have a maturity to handle it (most of the time).
Japanese Anime series normally one run for one season with a goal and point of competition written into the season. The fact that FMA went for two seasons shows that it is a quality show. The follow-up movie was excellent, but I didn't like where the Elric brothers ended up. I want to see them get back, but at least Al has his body back.
The series tells an excellent moral story about the corruption of power and about the love and faith that two brothers have for each other. It is amusing, serious, and always stays true to the story line.

That series is one of those animes you would want to watch over and over again...too bad that the series is quite short...huhuhu...=[
i kindi want to see Ed and Al back in the Alchemist world...

I DO!!!!!!!! It was one of the best shows ever and I was really sad when they took it off Adult Swim.
