Where do I start.
An apple falling on Newtons' head.
The great overblown Frankish victory at Tours against what actually was a small Muslim raiding force and not some great Muslim army.
HItler killing himself. I hate saying this but, he was loved by too many people to be caught.
One killer assasinating JFK.
The Barbarism of the early groups that crossed the Rhine back in Roman times, (Vandals, Goths, Franks, etc.) These peoples were Aryan Christians and as such were made out to be horrible fiends and devils when actually they were just hungry.
They are many event swhich I do not believe happened but more importantly they're are events which I believe did happen but have been erased from History. Here are some of those.
That whole thing about Roswell, New Mexico.
The power that Egypt exerted over the Western Mediteranian for like 2000 years.
The saving of all of western civilization by the Byzantine Empire many times over.
The importance of the Russian victory at Stalingrad being the most tactically important allied victory of the war.

Jesus and all his miracles, etc. There's no contemporary evidence to prove that he ever existed. The only Roman artifact of the time is an obelisk with Pontius Pilate being referenced as the prefect in Judea, no other character from Jeruselum mentioned in the bible is referenced. The only record of Jesus was in the Bible....most of the books of the bible were written by people who were never there, as second- or third-hand accounts decades or even centuries after the events they claim to tell about.
The books of the bible have been heavily edited over the centuries, with passages or even whole books being re-written or omitted to fit the theological and political climates of the time.
The books of the bible have also been subject to extensive errors, misinterpretations, and differences of opinion in interpretation as they are translated from one language to another and from that to yet another language.
That's not to say there was no obscure carpenter from Gallilee, but i consider the whole episode as the "most uncertain."

In *all* of history? There are too many to choose from. So much of what happens in history is based on "loose cannon" factors. What if Napolean hadn't been unwell at Waterloo? What if Constantine hadn't seen a flaming cross in the sky and converted to Christianity, forcing the Christian church to adopt an imperial heirarchy? What if George Washington had been prudent at Fort Duqesene? We'd never have heard of him. Etc., etc., etc.

The Trojan Wars.
Fantastic story by Homer, but was it really like that ?
Schliemann did not discover a city of the right period at Hissarlik, at the right period the city was little more than a village.
I'd love to think the story is true, but I'm not sure that it is.

The existence of Socrates. Or Jesus Christ and the whole I'm-dead-I'm-alive-now story (but I would think most people would regard that as tales anyway).
