This is a general question. The closest competitors have Florida over Ohio State. I am the only one having Ohio State beating Florida in the NCAA finals. Those of you who think Florida will win, Why? Those of you who think Ohio State will win, why? Thanks for your responses. Make me feel good going into Monday.

Flashback: florida defeated Ohio state 86-60 in December. History doesnt neccesarily repeat itself. Many people believed, including me, that UCLA would avenge last year's loss and beat Florida. But Florida was deeper. more explosive. better coached. Ohio St has less experienced and lack the depth from top to bottom like Florida. When u have guys like RIchards and Hodge coming off the bench, well, that is basically having 7 starters. Corey Brewer can do what he wants, when he wants, if he decides to do it (kinda like Rudy Gay). Joakim Noah is a 6'10 dennis rodman. Al Horford is an inside presence who can rebound and score (kinda like Josh Boone). Taurean Green is the engine, erratic at times, but makes big plays after big plays (sort of like Marcus Williams)..hmm..flashback...George Mason beat UCONN in the Elite Eight. UCONN had 5 NBA playes, GMU none. Ohio State has at least two nba players in Conley and mos def Oden..and that is why I think Ohio St. will win. Nobody has repeated in 14 years and Florida will not match this feat. UK almost had back to back titles. Overwhelming favorites in the 1997 NCAA title game..and lost to Arizona. Hmm..history is against the Gators and Florida seems to play with a switch: they can destroy anyone but they play lazy at times (see the Purdue, Butler, last 5 minutes of UCLA game). You cannot fall asleep on Ron Lewis, Jamar Butler, Mike Connely, Greg Oden and mos def that guy off the bench (Lighty). The Thad five can play and I think they will win. History says so...

You want reasons? Ill give you some reasons... Mike Conley Jr, Greg Oden, David Lightey, Ron Lewis, Daequan Cook, Ivan Harris, Othello Hunter, Matt Terwilliger, and Jamar Butler.

OSU will be so pumped for this game Florida will have no answer. Mike Conley Jr, or David Lightey will get into Taurean Green's face and he will become a turnover machine giveing OSU alot of fast break points. When Green fails the gators fall apart. Noah will start to get angry and drive his team into the ground. OSU is also a huge underdog, this is great for the buckeyes they have something to prove and play for.

If that doesnt cheer you up then know that Florida will likely loose 6 players to the NBA and Graduation next year (includeing all 5 starters... and maybe their coach?) The Gators will undoubtedly struggle to break .500 and their fan base which consists mostly of either bandwagoners, or fairweather fans will disipate and the gators will again dissapear back into the nothingness that is gainsville. This all will happen and the buckeyes will remain, as they always have both in football and basketball, and anyone who argues that really needs to look at the facts.

This part is for ratman, im pretty sure he was describing the wrong team. It is OK for you to continue with that though, because announcers and analysts said the SAME thing about Green, of Georgetown the "Big East Player of the Year" but what did he do against OSU??? Conley Jr. does what he wants when he wants. He hasnt even been close to shut down the ENTIRE season. And as for your 7 starters, we have 8 (sorry Terwilliger you didnt make the cut)

I am with you looking to break into the money in my pool with Ohio State. However, I think Florida was the best team heading into the tournament and bet Ohio State hedging a little bit that Florida might be upset along the way. That said, Florida is due to play a bad game and it could be Monday.

I think Florida will win. Ohio State has some talent: Oden and Conley. Florida has a lot of talent: Noah, Horford, Brewer. Plus a great coach in Billy Donovan. Florida has beaten Ohio State already. And Florida has the advantage of its players being very familiar with each other because they played together last year as well. They have a lot of big bodies to match up with Oden inside. They have experience. They have great execution. Everything seems geared for them to win it. But then again who knows right?

Defensively, if Oden stays out of foul trouble OSU has a good chance. Offensively, they have to do a better job of pushing the pace. The thing this team is very good at but fails to attempt to do more of is run out. You got basically 2 great point guards with some high risers and Oden able to follow the action for some thunderous follows! If they push the pace they can possibly frustrate Noah and Horford and keep UF off balance. Probobly getting some UF players into foul trouble early. All or nothing, one and out. Leave it all on the court! OSU wins by 6. LOL

My friend believes that OSU will win because most likely FL will be double teaming Oden and OSU's guards are good enough to take the game themselves.

I personally believe that FL will win simply because all 5 starters have the experience and overall talent to beat the young OSU team. Regardless of Oden and the double team issue, I believe that FL will be ready for anything that comes their way. Plus, FL is more talented in pretty much every facet of the game... except with their center. That's about it.
