Depends. A genuine smile is a strength but a false smile is a weakness, (like a courtesy laugh at the boss's bad joke)

One of the hardest thing I must do every day is smile, I work in the restaurant industry, (waitress) and I have to smile even when I am not happy. It is hard to do sometimes and it takes all the strength that I can muster just to keep a pleasant smile on. But I have learned that after a little while I am actually smiling genuinely

SMILE :)
It takes 14 muscles to smile. Whereas to frown it takes nearly 72 muscles. Usually it depends upon u and only u and not on on the situations to decide whether smile is strength or weakness.
If You accept things as it is you will definitely smile always and it will be your strength. But if u grumble at every thing and frown always smile is ur weakness. You see I tell u with authenticity smile should be made cheap and ur anger should be made valuable. If your smile becomes valuable it becomes your weakness if it is always available with u you are the strongest .

In physiology, a smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth. The smile can be also around the eyes. However, among humans, it's customarily an expression of pleasure, happiness, or amusement, but can also be an involuntary expression of anxiety, in which case it can be known as a grimace. There is much evidence that smiling is a normal reaction to certain stimuli and occurs regardless of culture. Happiness most often causes the smile to occur, though. Many studies indicate that smiling is an innate reaction, as children blind from birth, and even human fetuses smile; however feral children generally do not smile, perhaps lending evidence to the contrary, perhaps indicating the profound psychological disturbance that results in a member of a social species brought up with no elders or peers. Among animals, the exposure of teeth, which may bear a resemblance to a smile, are often used as a threat - known as a snarl - or a sign of submission. In chimpanzees, it can be a sign of fear.
Smiling not only changes a facial expression, but can also make the brain produce endorphins which reduce physical and emotional pain, and give a greater sense of well-being.

It is a very good question, in fact it depends on the situation that decides your strength and weakness. I believe smiling is not always good

It depends from time to time. I want to smile in all difficult
situations. I think it is my strength but many treat it my weakness.

It all depends on the context and the manner of the smile. Often times we smile in optimism, as a facial expression of our emotions. Yet not all smiles are comparable. Similarly, we smile in times of uncertainty, a nervous smile so to speak (This may be accompanied by a nervous laugh, indicating that like smiles, not all laughs are positive). In these two senses they can be viewed as a sign of strength and weakness.

The answer to this question depends on the attitude of the person who smiles. If the smile is genuine,it is a strength but if it is not genuine, then it is a weakness. Most of human beings smile for unknown or unconscious reasons. Then, smile is a weakness. But rarely man smiles to express his unconditional love to those who directly or indirectly contribute to his wellbeing in this universe. Then it is a strength.
