Feb/March are VERY BUSY in Las Vegas
A huge clothing convention called M A G I C is held in February every year. Also around the 14th is when tons of people come here to get married.
March is NASCAR month. The price of rooms goes way up.
I would have to say that September- November are good times to come to Vegas because it is still hot enough to lounge by a pool but not as crowded.

Quiet time? in Las Vegas? You'll have better luck winning the lottery. Actually, December is pretty quiet. When I lived there, the hotel and casino were extremely slow. Rooms we being sold for as little as $10 a night... and that was at a strip hotel.
Just before Christmas is pretty calm. But, considering the millions of people who visit every year, you'll have a hard time finding a quiet period to visit. If you want something a little more sedate than being on the stip, stay at a hotel that is off the strip. Sam Town is a great place to stay and its close to a few other casinos as well.
Have fun and good luck.

"David" is right, the slowest time of the year in LV is after the NFR(National Finals Rodeo) up until the weekend before New Years. For 2007 that's December 9th until the 28th you will find the best rates of the year during that period.
Though if David lived there when a strip hotel had $10 rates he hasn't lived in LV in for a while. My guess is that hotel no longer exists. We did stay at a downtown hotel once for a rate of $4.50 for 4 nights. 3 or 4 years ago the Orleans had a $15 rate for 10 nights, they gave us 4 of the nights free so we stayed 10 nights for under $100(including tax).
We are already holding the Gold Coast for next December 16th - 26th 10 nights for a total of $232.
We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We always go out in December to take advantage of the great rates.
The "general" times of the year to find the best rates are from November 1st until the end of February and from Memorial Day until Labor Day.>You still need to avoid special events, large conventions and weekends during this period to get the best deals.

Vegas is always crazy. I suggest that when you come, whatever time of year it is, stay on Australian time and do everything after midnight. You'll miss the buffet's though and most of the shows, but if quiet is what you want, that's the way to go.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the quietest time of the year here. March is one of the busiest times of the year with the convention season in full swing and March Madness basketball tourney and St. Patrick's day and NASCAR and ............ You will get the best prices and availability in early December.

No. This is among the peak times. There's no "quiet" time, per se, but some times are busier than others. The "slower" times to visit are July and August and the two weeks before Christmas.

Vegas is always busy, there is always something happening there. I've been to Vegas a whole bunch of times and the less hectic time was in November but even then it was still crazy.

Right after New Year's during the week is pretty quiet. We go there often at that time.
Once you get to Sat. and Sun. there is NFL (American Football) playoffs, so it's crowded once again.
