Because unlike Syria, here in America very little time is spent in school learning how to build bombs, kill "infidels" and pray 5 times a day to a false god. Thus more time is used to learn the truth.

Having an interest in Ancient Egyptian history . I have read cases that argue both sides some say they were yellow others say they where Black still others say that the elites where yellow and the general population was black . I have yet to make up my mind . As for Egyptians being Arabs. The Egyptians of today are mainly Arabs. Islam spread out from Mecca and the Arabs conquered most Africa and the Mediterranean.

Racism... People will do anything to separate Africa and blacks from greatness. This country was founded on bigotry and racism and you have to understand that people in high places suppress certain things and people usually get educated by television and picture on discovery and history channels that still promote the "American agenda," regarding blacks.
You are asking people to let go of prejudices and stereotypes that they would give their lives to keep. They can't just deal with the truth because that would require changing their whole outlook on blacks and their contributions to the civilization, Europeans, and their beginnings. You're asking them to pay homage to blacks for mathematics, medicine, surgery, astrology, and a number of other things. Their prejudices are too strong to cope with that kind of information that everyone knows except them.
Edited:
Honor, how strong is your brain? We are talking about Ancient people and you're judging them by modern populations. Do you think your argument is not "piss weak?" Americans don't reflect America in the 1300s, which is a lot closer to today than Ancient Egypt. Didn't the takeover by the Europeans change the population drastically? Why don't you see that an Arabic takeover of east and northern Africa has had the same effect? People need to learn to read. And you should learn how to study history before you throw everything into your blind western box.

In the USA and UK the ideal of "race" and racism is institutionalized. Those who wish to keep it so feel compelled to continue to teach what they've always known as lies.
The ancient Egyptians were most obviously Africans. They painted themselves that way. Now, were they "black"? That depends on the definition of "black" and "blackness". They most certainly very, very closely resembled the Beja people of Egypt and Sudan. Their morphological range was much like that of Americans(North and South) of the African diaspora. If you take a composite of Americans of the African diaspora from the USA, to Brazil you would have the likeness of ancient Egyptians.
Genetically they have been shown to have been African also. There are people such as the Afar, ancient Guanches, Somali, Tibu, Fula and Imuhagh all are people who reflect the diversity and morphology of ancient Egyptians. Were they "black"? Is former NFL coach and player Herman Edwards? Former NBA player Rick Fox? Super Bowl winner QB Russell Wilson? Former and current NBA players Steven Curry, Landry Fields, Doug Christie, Klay Thompson, Maurice Cheeks, Jim Jackson, Nene, Blake Griffith,Renaldo Balkman, Marquise Daniels, Joakim Noah, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Bill Russell, James Hardin and most NBA(and many NFL players represent the morphological diversity of ancient Egyptians. They are most often classified as "black". Promoted by a racist European construct. Black however is a misnomer, they are people of the African diaspora.

Gee this sounds an awful lot like zaraz and abrim....wonder which one went out and made a clone?
I don't know of anyone who teaches that ancient Egyptians were Arabs. I have studied history for decades, and the only people I've heard ranting about it are those on here tonight. No one else really cares.

First off, I applaud you for correcting people on this, especially since you are Arab and know your history. But as you can see, people will just replace Arab with Mediterranean. Then they'll be saying they were mulattoes or some crazy mess! They just can't bring themselves to admit it because they don't want to associate greatness with black skin.
But to give them a little sympathy, most of the movies (and documentaries on the History/Discovery channel) use Europeans to play Egyptians. So it's a huge, money powered conspiracy to keep perpetuating such lies in this country.
Of course, if any of them actually GO to Egypt or even LOOK at artifacts, they will quickly see black skin/features on all their paintings, carvings, and artwork. They don't even consider why so much of the remains have been destroyed, like the nose of the Sphinx. If these racist people saw that big, round, ***** nose on that thing, they'd have a heart attack!
EDIT: And then you have modern day Egyptians like Neutron, presuming that ancient Egyptians looked just like them. Non-sense! That's like saying the people who originally inhabited the U.S. were white b/c most Americans are white. Native Americans were the first ones here (hundreds of years b/f Columbus), but of course, his-story has to say that a white man "discovered" it. What type of logic is that?

Let's get one thing straight. Egyptians (ancient AND present) are not Arabic. Maybe the reason Americans think we are Arabs is because they took over our land, destroyed our culture, erased our language, and have dominated our country for nearly 2,000 years. Maybe they think Egyptians are Arabic because the majority of Egypt is now occupied by Arabs. However, I don't think I've ever heard Ancient Egyptians referred to as Arabs, and from what I've seen on the History Channel, I don't recall seeing Arabs or White people either. I saw people with my skin color. In any case, Egyptians are also not black. We might come from Africa, but the only people in my family with dark skin is my uncle and his son (my cousin could actually pass for black, in fact he looked like a black kid when he was younger). The rest of us have lighter skin. We are Egyptians; not White, not Black, and certainly not Arab. Since Egypt is located in Africa, I guess it is fair to say that our history is African history, but what's with trying to prove we have dark skin?? I'm sure there are plenty of Egyptians with dark skin, like my uncle... But there are a lot of people with lighter skin as well.
-EDIT:
Modern day NATIVE Americans are NOT White! If you look at a Native American, you will not see White! If you look at a COPTIC Egyptian, you will not see Arab, nor will you see Black! Just because the majority of America today is White, does not mean the original inhabitants are White, and you will SEE the difference when you look at a NATIVE American! There might be a something else mixed in my blood, but it would be a small percent. I am not of Arabic Egyptian decent, I am of Coptic Egyptian decent. Let's say the percent of my mix is a percent around a quarter. If a person is 80, or even 70 percent black, wouldn't they have black skin??? Why aren't there ANY black people in Egypt today? Are you telling me that EVERY single Egyptian has less than half of their original Egyptian blood??? That there are no Egyptians today with at least 70-80% Egyptian bloodline?
I understand that the circumstances between Native Americans and Coptic Egyptians are different. First, The Natives haven't had their land taken away for nearly as long as the Egyptians have. Second, Even with their land taken, they were given land for their community to live... So, it is more likely to see a pure Native American today than to see a pure Coptic Egyptian. But the point I'm trying to make is that if you look at a Coptic Egyptian, you will know that they are mostly Egyptian, not Arabic, and you will not see black in them either.

The people that usually teach that the ancient Egyptians were not black are the same people whose parents are brother and sister. Just a fact. It's in the books. ;)

I only remember them being called 'ancient Egyptians' when I was in school. I was never taught that they were arab. If fact, I don't think we were ever told what color they were. Judging by their ancient artwork they seem to have been a brownish orange color.

They teach that here because they like to perpetuate the lie that blacks have never created a civilization when nothing is further from the truth.
The Greeks said it, the Ethiopians said it and the Egyptians themselves said it. They were Nilotic Black Africans.
To the original poster, thank you for your unbiased, non-American perspective.

u people this is exaclty why history should be left alone, now u people are going to fight over something that happened thousand of years ago. egyptians and africans are the same people, there could have been some egyptians who were black, but most of them must have been fair, cause they were located in north africa. arabs are totally different people, as thier language and culture is different.
