Unless it is in uncirculated condition , or very near that the value is minimal....under ten cents. Does it have a mint mark? It would either be a "D" , or "S' if it has one. It will be right under the date.

1937 Penny

The 1937-dated Lincoln cents(Wheat Ear reverse design) have high mintages of 309,170,000 (Philadelphia Mint without any alphabet under the date), 50,430,000(Denver Mint with "D"), 34,500,000 (S.Francisco Mint with "S"), and they're far from rare or even scarce. They are very common even though they are 70 years old. The latest May 2007 month Coin Values magazine listed the 1937 cents from all 3 mints in circulated conditions from $0.05 to $1.50 depending on level of wear, but they are normally being offered at the coin shop for $0.05 to $0.10 each in average circulated conditions, and slightly more in nice circulated but still below $1. Common date Lincoln Wheat cents are only collectable in premium uncirculated grades, meaning those cents with full and bright luster without prints or too many distracting marks.

In average circulated condition it would retail for 20 or 25 cents depending on if it has a mint mark or not. If it is uncirculated then you are talking about a couple of dollars again depending on the mint mark and the color of the coin (red like it just came from the mint, red and brown or brown).

Not a lot of money but still interesting considering it is 70 years old.

$0.01 at any store.
If you find a collector maybe they may pay more since certain years are more than others.
