Mongolian spots are smooth, brown or blue-gray birthmarks. They usually are irregular in shape and are commonly found across the lower back and buttocks.
These are more frequently found on babies of darker skin pigmentation

This is an accumulation of deep pigment in the area where the lower back meets the rear end. It is usually seen in Asians. It can be seen on other parts of the body as well. It is a bluish color.
