Before you answer, consider the racist hysteria against Japanese-Americans after Pearl Harbor. Today, our internment of hundreds of thousands of Americans in concentration camps is considered a serious strike against our reputation as a democracy.

But the mentality that caused that is no different than today's Islamophobia.

Not that it matters, but just for the record I am not a Muslim.

Of course, Muslims repeatedly denounce terrorist attacks when they occur.

But if bigots could be persuaded by the facts, they wouldn't be bigots, right?

wow

i agree with you

just amazing

EDIT: actually, muslim leaders do not denounce these attacks, because it is written Koran that if muslims are arguing amongst each other, than that is a bad omen. So, they may just be living in denial with it. Oh well

Certainly the internment of the Japanese was a decision no one liked, but at that time ideals were not what they are today.

The problem with Islam today is much different. When the most vocal Islamists are saying hateful things and promising to destroy other religions and few speak out against it, the problem begins. When they make good on their threats it is perpetuated. When organizations like CAIR begin to test our defenses and break our security through lawsuits we begin to see the extent of what we are dealing with.

At some point they destroy their own credibility. Their religious brothers initiated the the image problem and it will be up to them to resolve it.

Islam is, by definition, a violent cult where all members are admonished to kill those who refuse to accept the religion of Mohamed.

It is in the Koran. It is not a country or a nationality, but is more akin to a giant crime organization. There is no phobia here.

Your analogy is not realistic or rational. The expressed hatred and contempt for Jews, Christians, and any other person who is not willing to accept that religion has been expressed vehemently from virtually every mosque on earth, including those in the United States.

It is not irrational to be suspect of people who are members of a group that are required to express the same hatred and rhetoric as a condition of remaining in the organization and not being killed themselves.

By your definition, we shouldn't be worried about the mafia, the Ku Klux Klan, or any other criminal or hate group.

There is a difference, of course. In WWII, a nation-state raised an attack. That is not true now. The best way of preventing Islamophobia is for the Muslims to keep their own house clean, by denouncing those who misuse the religion for justification of terrorism.

I don't know if it is the "greatest threat", but it is certainly one of them. Giving up our Constitutionally guaranteed rights, and proclaiming, "It doesn't matter if you have nothing to hide" are the actions and voices of people who are living in fear. And that fear is being encouraged by the present administration. The unfortunate truth of the matter is this: that is exactly what the terrorists hoped to accomplish! We, as a nation, have shown that our "sacred" democracy is vulnerable to the attacks of those who laugh at our freedoms.

muslims believe: That the quaran is from there so-called god allah... there is only one quaran.... there is only one islam... the quaran is islam and islam is the quaran... the quaran clearly states that all who refuse to submit to the law of the quaran and islam are to be killed... there is no room for moderation in "kill all"....

What dose such a beliefe make those who follow the quaran and islam, in relation to the rest of the human population of the Earth... can you say...enemies

In my opinion that would make islam the threat to democratic freedom

Muslims have consistently shown temselves to be bloodthirsty savages. They are involved in almost every armed conflict raging today. They will not be satisfied until we are either praying to the East or dead. Islam must be destroyed.
