Depends on who it is and what the situation is. Luckily when I kissed my grandma for the first time, I had the sense to keep my mouth closed (she's got false teeth and all). But, in other situations, where family isn't involved, open is okay too.

what? Not for an adult, I can't imagine just giving someone a chaste kiss unless I totally didn't like him at all and was giving him a quick peck on the cheek as I dug the keys out of my purse and made a run for my front door.
