It's not a rumor. Notice the link I provided for the snopes article. They didn't color his coat, you just can't see the stripes on black and white tv.

Snopes is reputable... you people should read the article before responding... most of your answers make you sound like idiots if you read the article first.

Even if the color looked different in black and white, you would still see the stripes, and you can tell the difference from a zebra & horse. The mane & ears are different.

no he's not...hun, zebras are damn near impossible to tame and train. any zebras seen on a movie or tv are usually painted horses.
