I have a 1997 chevrolet Z-71 with a 350 V-8 that has lost oil pressure and ya can hear the lifters rattling or maybe the rocker arms but anyway 3 mths ago it did this and was low on oil i filled it back up and now it is doing it again but seems to be full of oil what is my problem and what is my first step to a resolution of this problem?????

sounds like you ran it too long low on oil and the "hydraulic" lifters have basically collapsed...i would have to hear it to tell your more...good luck and learn to change and check your oil...alot less expensive

Remove the valve covers. Place you hand on the rocker arms. Should not rattle. Push back on them. If the push rod easily go down, then your lifters have collapsed. If all the rocker arm appear loose, then there is excessive cam lobe wear.

start with an oil change to a thicker oil (20w-50) , but it may be cam bearings (that is where the pressure is taken)

try oil change and filter if that don't work maybe has engine damage
