Thunderbird Door problems.. If door wont open how do i fix the latch? wont open on inside or out..?

I wouldn't have to rip the door panels off would i? how do people fix this problem?? Thanks

1. Remove the door panel.

2. Remove the inner door handle assembly.

3. Make sure the lock lever is in the up position.

4. Pull on the steel rod & put you shoulder into the door to dislodge.
