I have noticed that the so-called "anti-racists," otherwise known as "college educated, open-minded, multicultural" whites are moving away from my town, which is 60% minority and are re-settling in nice, cute little white enclaves.

There is this little small town right next to my larger town, and it has grown dramatically in the past 10 years. All the whites from the larger cities in the area moved there. Lots of walls and brand new shiny boulevards with bike lanes etc. They keep the rents sky high to keep the minorities out.

Why are these people, who loudly advertise to the world that they watch Oprah and support Obama, move away from their beloved black friends? Why are they pulling their white kids out of the "multicultrual" 75% minority schools??

Are they doing this because they racist or are you making an assumption as to their intentions because you are. I am part black and i live in a suburb very close to Pleasantville. The surrounding neighborhoods have always been very nice areas. More recently the rents have dropped and more and more people who the bad area of town are moving into what is considered the nice part of town. These are not just minorities but many of them are people who bring with them a lot of drugs, violence, and the police who used to sit around drinking coffee are now having to patrol around at night. In the past 5 years there has been a rise in gang activity and bomb threats at the local high schools. I think you are wrong in making the assumption that this is solely a race thing. i noticed the areas where a lot of younger, poorer families live has become rundown. Again not all minorities in fact predominantly white. Williamsburg used to be predominantly artist types, now a lot of the people who live there are yuppies and/or the fake artists has nothing to do with race the artists type are moving out one because they can no longer afford it and two because why would you want to live with these yuppies who bring with them a mass of trendy bars and clothing stores and the area becomes completely commercialized instead of being your friendly little neighborhood.

That is a very good statement. I noticed that here in CT. There's a small white enclave not too far from where I am, Branford, where quite a lot of wealthier people live. They do exactly those things, and if you're darker than buff or sand, they don't even treat you well in restaurants. We experience that pretty often in the stores there, with the exception of one coffee place.

Livingat in a particular adress doesnt make someone racist, or not racist. They choose to live where they want because its nice, safe, and probably convenient for them. I am the most non racist and open minded person I know of, but I choose not to live in Little Havana. Im not racist, its just not the nicest, safest, or most convenient place for me.

Rents being sky high keep out the poor, not anyone of any particular race.

As for schools, I doubt it has anything to do with the race of the fellow students and everything to do with the performance of the school. If I had kids, I wouldnt send them to a school with low graduation rates, and anyone who can read at a 8th grade level or do basic math is considered ready to graduate.

there is a big difference between college educated, openminded, good people and their preferences on whom they wish to live next to, and a general deterioration of property values-and yes I know that reads racist however corner any good realtor and they will admit to this as being a fact. bottom line is preference.
why my query would be do nice minority people want to move into an all white enclave/neighborhood?

So from what YOU are saying: No minorities have money????

That seems racist against yourself! You said they "keep the rents sky high to keep minorities out".

That's silly. Some minorities have great deals of money, some white people are dirt poor.

I can't speak for your neighborhood, I apparently don't live where you do, I like mixed neighborhoods.

They leave because it is better. Who would want to live in a ghetto? Don't alot of black people talk about getting out? If the multicultual pigs have their way even voluntary seperation won't be possible anymore. I smell jealousy.

Good question.

When I moved here 10 years ago, it was the middle-lower class area that is changing into upper middle class/upper class very rapidly.
It worries me that my kids won't see the world as it really is, so I am changing their school to take them with me to the school I teach at that is 85% multicultural.
