When you have the capability to browse photos on your phone, you have two options to save your photos. One is to save your phone into your phone's internal memory. The other way is to save your photos onto a memory card. Some phones have a slot on the back of their phones to put a memory card (the size of your fingernail) so that they can save and store photos or music onto their memory card. This saves up your phones internal memory and the memory card can hold up to 256 mb, 512 mb or up to a gigabyte of information (photos and music).

It means you can either save the file in your phone memory, or 'save to card' on your memory card.
