Every generation has a responsibility to fix the problems of the past and improve the future.

Just as every older generation should strive to improve things for those who follow.

Haven't you heard all the old stories of "hardships" told by older generations ? ie: walking 6 miles to school in the snow, one pair of ratty shoes etc. You have no idea how easy you have it. (I'm assuming your a teenager)

Politics is easy to figure out............ everyone that is running for office will promise their constituents the moon, once elected they will do what they want, when election time rolls around again they will tell their constituents everything they accomplished and what the " opposition" won't let them accomplish that they will get done the next time around.

All you have to realize is that politics doesn't exist without politicians and politicians need voters to keep them in office.
At the federal level they are making about $166,000 so they want to stay in office - no matter what.

As for your generation saving the US or fixing it.......... you are having delusions of grandeur as every generation before you and your children will be sitting somewhere in 20 odd years saying or thinking the exact same thing.....

Politics are not confusing .It`s the politicians who come up with all these complex reforms all in the name of their popularity.Besides if you think USA has really gone to the dogs and it`s up to your generation to fix it then trust me it`s not an impossible task.all you will be needing is good publicity and start ******* likecme

Politics is easy: think "Power." Now that I've explained politics, I'll go to your premise (that your generation needs to "fix" things).

Yeah, that's what we all thought, too, on the college campuses in the late 1960s.

If you want to fix things, read the Constitution, limit government power, and start voting. Now -- not "when your generation gets into power!"

If you limit government power, it can't hurt you as much, no matter which creeps are running it. Further, with less power available, fewer creeps are going to want to get in.

Yep. But politics really isn't that confusing when you look at it.

There are those who want to find reasonable solutions, and who are willing to discuss and compromise to get them.

And there are those who are fanatics who want their way, and will do anything to attack those who stand in their way.

Both of the major political parties have far too many in the fanatic category, and sadly, they have managed to rig the system so that moderates and rational folks are shut out.

I think every generation has felt that way. My generation needs to give you a chance by stopping all this incredible spending being done. I wish your generation all the best!

Politics is everything, and everything is politics.

If politics was easy, than everyone would be qualified to lead a country. That would be a scary thought.
