Abso-freakin'-lutely. We need to dump these stupid labels that accomplish nothing but driving wedges between us. We're Americans and it's time we got it together.

America is a continent. Two actually. North and South.

So, if you want the US just for Americans, that would by definition include anyone from at least the US, Canada and Mexico. Probably most of Central America. Maybe also South America depending on your defintion of "America".

As far as the US being divided -- race and religion are not the current biggest problem. Political partisanship is. And we're much more likely to see a civil war between liberals and conservatives than we ever would a racial or religious war.

America Rocks

Makeda M: I respectively disagree with you. You speak of European linage being racist but that statement shows that you are racist and, I'm just guessing, you probably do not have blond hair, blue eyes and light skin. Don't you see that this was the message and you totally missed it.

This is how it is already.

Anyone else is classified as a visitor or an illegal alien.

In order to enjoy your true rights and freedoms you have to be a citizen.

The unfortunate thing is some racist think differently and forget that most of us got her by land or by sea.

Some of European heritage seem to believe in this old " manifest destiny" mentality.

We are all immigrants and those who are citizens need to unite and respect the rights of all.

A nation divided accomplishes little.

Number one: I don't call anyone (blacks in particular) XXXXX-American. They are black, white, hispanic, indian, etc.etc.etc.

Number 2: We are not about to have World War 2. Everyone has been saying that for the last 60 years, get over it. We are a globalizing society that allows our government to push around weaker countries. The only way to stop the inevitable "WORLD WAR" that you speak of is to vote differently. Calling someone an african american doesn't make me anyless sympathetic to the american cause when it comes to supporting what is right.

I'm all for America and "Americans", but I'd rather not face another war. What's a true American value? Diplomacy.
