The worst danger is that other objects spun and tossed by the winds (like large tree branches or large automobiles) would smash into you and crush you. Collapse of a building (or home trailer) that you are in is the next most common cause of death.

You could get picked up in the tornado, and get hit by debris or other hard objects. You could also just be on the hollow ground and get hit by items and objects as well. You may suffocate from debris covering you. You could die from a building (wood or other material) collapsing on top of you as well. If you do get picked up in a tornado, you could end up being so high off the ground, that when the tornado stops, and drops you back to the solid ground, you could die from being petrified (some people do) or just from hitting the ground SO hard.

You die in a tornado from debris or your house falling on you. If you were unfortunate enough to actually get sucked into a tornado, the sheer force and the flying debris would probably snap you in two.

Impact: either something heavy lands on the person (most common), or the person is smashed into an object.

It's not the wind that kills you, it's that Volvo flying in it. (stolen from red neck tour comedian and I don't remember which).

yes you do spin.
BUT... to die in one you'd get crushed to death by other objects, slammed to death, dropped on rocks etc.
