Actually watched some of it here last night from Sydney ! Still can't sit through the whole thing, but did enjoy part of what must be a great atmoshpere at the ground even though theres no tackling and to much thumbling about !

Personally it doesn't worry me that much, but this year could be the year for a Victorian team to win the premiership!

What a wonderful question. From the Sydney, West Coast lists combined of (90 players), 33 are Born and bred Victorian, and thats not including the Sydney coaching panel. Judd and Goodes are also Brownlow medallist's, and 'learn't ' the game in Victoria. Brisbane has 12 Vic's on its list and When you estimate that that it cost's 6 mil a year to run a club, each year 60 mil is found in Victoria, 12 WA and SA and 6 QLD and NSW. Brisbane and Sydney with the lowest(state) finnancial output in the comp are both coached by Victorians and between them have competed in the last 6 Grand Finals, after being propped up by Victoria, ever since they were established from Fitzroy and Sth Melb. I just think it is Fantastic for Victoria, being such a small state to continue being the backbone and instigator of the best football code in the world. If the other 4 competing states could ever come close to the output of what Victoria provides the AFL today, how good would the game be then.

What a great game. I love their matches.. 3 matches in a row decided by a point! Well done to the eagles even though I wanted Sydney to win. I think you are forgetting an important factor in this, Fremantle and Adelaide in the best 4 also.. maybe not in Round 1 but the last 5 or so years has been dominated by Interstate. At least I can hold my head up high with the Saints considered the best Victorian team :)
As for your question I don't think it doesn't make us feel any different. It just makes the Victorian teams want that premiership even more!

I'm from Vic and i think its a good thing because the AFL is all of the country its not the VFL any more. West coast are the best because the swans play a bad brand of footy until the last quarter when they are loosing like in round one against west coast

Well I think Swans and West Coast fans are happy to see that the season has started how it left off. Sadly for me the result went the wrong way AGAIN..lol.. but congrats to the Eagles. What a great match. These two sides bring out the competition in each other and I always look forward to them playing. Hopefully the GF will go our way this year !! Yeah well done Sydney and West Coast, another thriller and congrats to all the other teams who won this round.

the tied will turn sooner rather than later I'm a Victorian and it doesn't bother me just as long as you see good football let the Victorian clubs catch up lot more money over in Sydney and the west they can afford to keep there players

well - since no Victorian club has won a flag since Essendon in 2000, and no Victorian club has made a grand final since 2003, you'd actually think they'd be getting pretty used to it by now. but they don't award premierships until September, and there's a couple of other teams that will be competitive as well.

The Vics must be hating this, to see interstate teams looking like they are premiership material again.
It was another great game from these 2 sides, how good are West Coast.
