Is it just me, I have noticed ALOT of famous people have UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT names. Like Beyonce', LeBraun James, Shaquielle Oneal, Ashanti , Kobe Bryant , Sean Combs, Kimora Lee, Avril Leivgen (sp?), Jamie Foxx, ETC. (if u have some in mind..please list them!)
Do u think unique names, make more of a unique person?

I think unique names give the child more individuality- for example, they are not stuck in a classroom with 5 other children of the same name. Either way, a child creates his or her own personality regardless of his/her name.
I'm 16 weeks pregnant, and here's the names we picked out:
Girl: Amaya (means "night rain" in japanese) Tiana
Boy: Jalen Zion
Other unique names I like...
For girls: Analeese, Aniyah, India, Kyleigh, Amirah, Kenza, Kailani, Kira, Kassara
And for boys: Amani, Jamare (boys names are much harder!!)

I like Rhyan, Able, Gracie, Nona, Scarlett, Rumor, Olivia (Liv), Winnie, Blakely, Sage and Charlie as girl names
And Bently, Benton, Luca, Micha, Lincoln, Harrison, James, Dannie and Hendrix as boy names. Names after fruits are a little strange to me and if you can tell it was made up, is usually too much for me. But sometimes unique names are very pretty

I think the idea is that unique names will produce unique people, yes. I just don't think you can direct a child's personality by what you name them. Their name will only have so much effect on them - the rest is a result of upbringing.
I do like unique names for children, I just am a little saddened when I see a parent take it too far, and give a child a name this is actually odd, because that's a choice that will affect the child their whole life.

How are Sean, Avril or Jamie "unique names" - they are all very common names. There are also many famous people named Jennifer, Ashley, Katherine(Kate, Katie etc) John, Michael, Joseph,Nicole Thomas, Ben, Paul etc
SO NO I dont think unique names make people unique - presidents all have pretty normal names and most celebraties have pretty normal names too. Sure there are some people w unique names who are famous but thats just statistics.

How "unique" are "unique" names when everyone seems to have them? Last year, a little girl named Mary enrolled in my daughter's school and there have been more comments on her name than the dozens and dozens of "unique" names of some of the other kids. People aren't impressed by "unique" names anymore, because everyone seems to be trying to re-invent the wheel.

I think a child with a unique name is really no diffrent than a child with Common name. No matter what the name every child is unique, and every child has abilities and talents. I think the uniqueness of one's name reflects on how much thought, time and pride the parents took at naming their child.

I think you should choose Devon (pronounced Devin), which is my name. It is certainly unique because i have only run into one other person who spells and pronounces it the same way that i do. I do feel that I am unique both because of my name and just who I am in general.
