In about 2 to 3 years, I will be turning the big 2-5 and I would like to go somewhere nice to celebrate it. I was thinking about Las Vegas since I have been dying to go there. I would like to do something big since I didn't do anything much for my 21st bday.

Do any of you have an suggestions how to celebrate a big birthday in Vegas on a tight budget? I would like to go out to a club one night as well while I am there. Also, what is a cheap hotel that is also really nice to stay in? I will turn 25 Oct 18, 2009 if that is of any help.
BTW, the reason I am asking this so far in advance is that I could have time to plan this out. Thank you all very much!

Since you're on a tight budget, I would suggest waiting until the December after your 25th. You will find some incredible room deals then. After the NFR(National Finals Rodeo) up until the weekend before New Years is the best time to go.

The NFR ends on the second Sunday in December, this year the best rates are from December 9th until the 28th.

The Orleans is a very nice hotel that generally has bargain rates during December. There are a couple of very nice four star hotels that for as long as I can remember have had $49 rates during December, the Golden Nugget and Luxor.

their web sites
http://www.orleanscasino.com
http://www.luxor.com
http://www.goldennugget.com

This is the best site for up to date LV info - you can also link to every LV hotel/casino from this web site
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com "VEGAS INFO" >Hotels & Casinos >also all of the nightclubs(there are so many great ones it's hard to pick just one) It's going to depend a great deal on what type of music you enjoy.

For things to do in LV

http://www.vegas.com/attractions

You can check these sites for room rates

http://www.i4vegas.com
http://www.tripres.com
http://www.vegas.com

The way to get the best rate is to begin checking room rates a full one year ahead of when you plan to go. As soon as you find a good rate hold the room through the hotel. Then keep on looking for a better rate, I check at least once a week. You just never know when you will find an incredible rate.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We always go out in December to take advantage of the room rates, and all of the free room offers we get from the hotels we play at.

We are already holding rooms for December, from the 16th-26th(10 nights) at the Gold Coast for a total or $232 - Our Host at our favorite hotel comped us the 28th - 1st so we just need to fill in the 26th & 27th, which should be a piece of cake. We have 3 more hotels that regularly comp us rooms.

Last December we went out a little earlier than usual, December 5th-19th - Our total cost was $232 each for RT air from KC and 14 nights hotel. We actually overpaid since we turned down 5 free nights. We just stayed at the Orleans for 9 nights at $25 per night rather than move 2 more times.

You can go for very little and have a great time, you do have to work at it a little and take advantage of the best times to visit LV.

Planning for Vegas is so much fun:) I've been once and plan on returning soon.

On a budget means you should go to nightclubs.com and vegas.com to find out the cheap and/or free nights at the various clubs. Decide if you prefer a lounge ( like ghost bar) or a dance club (rum jungle)- two very nice clubs in Vegas. Going early helps a lot, too. That means arriving before 11.

Two nice, but less expensive hotels you should consider are gold coast, the orleans, and golden nugget- all off-strip. Since you'll be 25, you'll be able to rent a car with paying extra. I don't care what anybody says, having a car in Vegas is nice. Check out US Car Rental.

The time of year you go also matters. Go during August for cheap rates, if you can stand oven-hot weather. Also consider arriving on a Monday or Tuesday and leaving on a Friday or Saturday.

Check out air/hotel packages (per person) on travelworm.com and usair.com. If you want to buy seperately keep an eye on airline fares booked directly with the airlines, including southwest airlines.

Save money! For two people, even on a budget, for four nights you will need 3000 minimum. Save 125 each month for twentyfour months.

Honestly, rates in Las Vegas go up so quickly these days its hard to say. Plus, by the time you are ready to celebrate there will probably be new clubs open.

Regardless I will try to answer your question the best I can.

The hottest clubs in Vegas right now are:
Tao
Tryst
Pure
Tangerine
Light
Moon
Rehab (when it opens)

If you stay at one of the hotels that has the club of your choice you have a good shot at getting put on the guest list (especially if its your birthday). No club in Vegas is cheap. Cover typically goes from $20-$40.

You could get a reduced rate at the Palms and they have all the best clubs.

If I were you, I would stay at the Motel 6 on Tropicana. Honestly, it is way cheaper than the casion hotels and is very clean and nice (at least it was when I was there). It is only a few blocks away from the Strip so it would be a short cab ride or rental car drive from there. It depends on what you enjoy most as far as entertainment goes. I live here now and you can do just about anything you can think of here party-wise. If you like to drink beer or other alchohol, there are some great bars and restaurants. One of my favorite places to go to just drink and hang out is the Crown and Anchor Pub on Trop. It's east of the casinos and is mainly a locals and college bar. They have great beer from all over the world, soccer on the "telly" and a neat English pub atmosphere. Their food is good too. Some is basic bar food but they also have traditional English dishes too. Another good place is Haufbrauhaus. If you like German food and beer, it's the best in town. As far as casino stuff goes, there are many casinos that I like for different reasons. If you want gamble and have a decent chance of winning, go to the older ones on Fremont Street. You can walk around in the Fremont Street Experience part without having to dodge traffic since it's blocked off now. The casinos there are smaller and older than on the Strip and usually have better odds. The best game odds wise in any casio is Craps since you get to bet on the actual odds of a two die roll. Second best game to play is single deck blackjack since they only use one deck so you can keep track of what's been played. It's getting more popular so most casios have it. As far as atmosphere goes, I like the Silverton really well. It's laid out like a hunting lodge and has a Bass Pro Shop in it too. It's a bit more laid back than many of the casinos. One of the most unique casinos here is the Luxor with it's big glass pyramid and Egyptian motif. You also need to ride to the top of the Stratisphere and try the Big Shot ride. You'll see the whole valley from the top of the tower and the Big Shot will give you quite a rush! If you like auto racing, go to the Sahara club and watch the races (or any sport that's on) in the NASCAR cafe. If you want to dance, just about every big casion has dance clubs. I don't go clubbing so I'm not sure which is best. If you'd like to see some stand up comics (possibly even some famous ones depending on the night) go to Harrah's and see An Evening at the Improv. It's the famous stand up comic place that you see sometimes on Comedy Central. One really unique thing to do is going to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. You get to eat cornish hens and a full meal with your hands Dark Ages style while you watch knights in real armor duel and joust on real horses. It's quite fun. There are stage shows, famous singers on tour, all kinds of things to do here.
