With cars I would think it depends on the size of the car, can't really say. A relative of mine used to drive Taxis and had a couple of occasions when held up in city traffic with passengers who suffered from being claustrophobic, they just wanted to get out of the car. On a motorcycle you don't have to wear the face flap down, some just wear goggles or sunnies. I would think that it would be alot less claustrophobic on a bike.

Well I'm claustrophobic, and I'll say that being in a large car, I'm ok, but in anything like a two door I can't handle it. But with the motorcycle thing, now I CAN do that. I think it's because I'm not confined all over, it's just over my eyes but I can feel the wind on the rest of my body and so I don't feel like the place is closing in on me. But in a car with all the windows down, I sometimes stop breathing for the fear of the entire car trapping me. That's what I know at least!

I've never known it to happen in those circumstances. The car has windows & the motorcycle is all open. The people I knew wouldn't ride an elevator, wouldn't ride a plane.....any space where they felt trapped & couldn't get out.

Well, I'm claustrophobic, show this is my opinion. A car is closed-in. But on a Bike, you have the wind in your face, which always feels better when your going to be sick.

a helmet with a flap can be wore with the visor up, as long as you wear eye protection, it can also be half way up.
its the law in FL to always have eye protection. even if you dont wear a helmet. I dont know bout anywhere else.
but this helps a bit.

I think maybe that it is okay for them to have a full helmet because they have other parts of their body accessable to the outdoors and area around them.
