But is it odd to have someone elses kid call you dad? Because although I was happy, I did feel kind of odd.

it depends on the situation...if you were in public and a child mistaked you for his or her dad and called you that then the feeling you got was probably because of your longing to be a father....if your in a relashionship and the lady's child called you dad then you may have felt odd because you don't know how to take their affection towards you....because nobody has ever referred to you as thier father......

Well, knowing the child is not mine, I would smile, because children are attracted at adults that may remind them of a "father". This has happened to me many many times in my life, it feels good, as if God is expressing his satisfaction with me.

I think the way you felt was how alot of people feel. I felt the same way when my nephew used to call me mommy even though I don't have any kids.

I guess it would depend on the situation...your girlfriend's child, a slip of the tongue...etc.
