Frankly, it's one of my favorite movies of all time. I love that not only an African-American was the lead, but also that he wasn't a stereotype. I love that BS had Richard Pryor as one of the writers, though his contribution was mostly writing the Mongo part.

This is my opinion.

not too many black people would take the ime to watch a movie called blazing saddles. but i saw it when i was younger so i don't know if i should be offended or not but hey a movie is a movie and hollywood has been making fun of us for years and so have so have black movie directors as well so i don't see what the problem is. comedy is comedy.

Blazing Saddles wasn't made to offend anyone, although I can see why people might think Mel Brooks had a tish of that in mind. It's just supposed to make people laugh.

I am Native Indian and grew up in small town Canada with no Black people around. There was us, whites, and all kinds of Asians. (The first Black family I recall in town was when I was 16. ) Anyway, we got a kick out of the Indians in the movie. We quoted over and over when the Indians attacked and were stunned to find a Black family. They didn't know what to do because they were darker.

I'm not African American but i have to tell you that in my opinion that movie is harder an white people than black. they are the smart ones in it not us. by the way it's one of my favorite comedy's
